Apparatus for the verification of document

GRAFOLUX is an apparatus designed for graphological expertise using special light sources in the 360 - 1060 nm spectral range.
Through its design, the equipment is also suitable for the use in other fields of criminalistics, in particular in biochemistry - e.g. for the determination of blood prints - or in dactyloscopy for the investigation of fingerprints treated with luminiscent chemicals. It is also useful in other fields, e.g. in banking, customs service, in the work of the police for foreigners and other branches of research.

The apparatus is equipped with :

• a monochromatic light source of 366 nm (2 fluorescent tubes with 18 W output),


• regulated power source of white light (1150 W halogen lamp, with possible output increasing up to 250 W). This light source is adapted for the insertion of colour filters for the selection of the required part of radiated spectrum and for continuous electronic output regulation in the range of 10 - 100 %,


• ptransillumination desk of 265 x 250 mm with planar white light source (6 fluorescent tubes of 8 W output each) for the examination of translucent objects, such as watermarks on bank notes and documents,


• uxiliary white light source for the ensuring of uniform working space illumination (fluorescent tube of 18W).

The observation part of the apparatus is equipped with a large-area yellow filter for the detection of luminiscent effects and with a television system for the examination of objects within the working range of light spectrum. The TV system with a CCD camera and a 12“ monitor is fitted with a ZOOM lens with a working focus range of 1:6 (f = 12.5 – 75 mm).
The magnification of the whole TV system can be changed within the 2.4 - 14 times range. The spectral properties can be controlled with a set of special filters in the 450 - 950 nm range.

For various special applications and specific requirements, the constructional design of the apparatus allows an easy implementation of a number of options, in particular:

• fitting with fluorescent tubes of special spectral emissions, e.g. 254 nm, 312 nm, or with other special monochromatic sources,


• increasing the white light output up to 250 W,


• the illumination and observation part of the apparatus can be complemented with special colour filters in accordance with specific requirements (e.g. interference filters etc.),


• the operating parameters of the imaging system can be adjusted in accordance with the customer requirements.

The equipment can be complemented by other accessories, such as a video printer. It can function with a PC equipped with hardware and software suitable for video signal processing.
