Elatest II.

A device for document authentication and identification of unauthorized modification of documents.

Constituent parts:

- a video channel with a colour camera to observe effects in the visible part of the spectrum. It is equipped with a white-light source and a set of eight colour filters suitable for suppressing or highlighting colour modifications that can be observed in the visible part of the spectrum.

- IR (infrared )video channel with a special camera and a set of 8 units of IR filters to observe covering signs and unauthorized modifications visible in the 680-1050 nm band. Once the IR filters are removed the camera can be used for work in the visible part of the spectrum.

The standard version of the device comes equipped with a 9“ TV monitor.
It is fed with 230V/50Hz voltage but when fitted with a special 12-24V dc / 230V /50 Hz adapter it can be built into a mobile unit and used in the field supplied from the onboard power source of the vehicle or an emergency power supply.

The acquired video signal can either be evaluated on the TV monitor or it can be sent to the video input of a computer where it can be evaluated visually or processed by special software capable of more sophisticated operations such as storing the scanned documents in an archive and working with stored files, including various methods of comparing the evaluated documents with materials from the archives. Comparison methods include, for example, overlaying images or comparing two images on a vertical or horizontal division plane).
The obtained results can be processed to produce outputs suitable for filing and for inserting into a physical file, such as on a video printer or a PC printer.
